Stop by the Learning Commons & Library to see our display of Edgar Allan Poe and check out some of his wonderfully, frightful tales!

Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849) was an American writer, poet, and a critic of other writers when he worked at the Southern Literary Messenger in Richmond, Virginia.  He was considered the 'Tomahawk Man" due to his vicious reviews of his contemporaries. However, he was a talented poet and prolific writer completing works such as "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Murders in the Rue Morgue," "The Black Cat," "The Pit and the Pendulum," and one of his best known works, "The Raven."

You can also view this display virtually at go.hawaii.edu/Pnr.

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." --Anais Nin

The richness of having a great friend helps one develop into a good friend ourselves. We celebrate Friendship Month by featuring titles displaying the many forms of friendship. Stop by the Learning Commons & Library to view our display (or browse virtually at go.hawaii.edu/Pnr)!

Hawaiian (native and endemic) plants add color and beauty around our islands and many of these plants are at Leeward Community College! We will feature a plant monthly on our electronic display board and the research can be obtained from the Hawaii-Pacific Collection. Photos are taken by myself. Hope you enjoy!
