Donald Trump and Higher Ed: What's next?
Donald Trump and Higher Ed: What's next? Thursday, February 20: 1pm ET | 10am PT

Register for this timely discussion presented by The Chronicle of Higher Education on Thursday, February 20, at 8 a.m. HT.

When you register, select "Leeward Community College" as your institution. You also have the option to suggest topics for the discussion.

Announcement from The Chronicle of Higher Education on the upcoming discussion:

Donald Trump's first weeks in office have been a whirlwind of executive orders, dramatic pronouncements, hasty reversals, and — most of all — confusion.

What will become of various streams of federal funding for higher ed? Will Immigration and Customs Enforcement show up on campuses? (And if so, what will colleges do?) Will the Department of Education be shuttered – and how would that impact colleges? A recent survey of around 100 college presidents found that 78 percent found the following statement to be true: “Donald Trump is going to war with higher education.”

Rick Seltzer has cut through the chaos every morning in The Chronicle's subscriber-only newsletter, the Daily Briefing. No one has done a better job of distinguishing signal from noise and articulating the specific stakes for colleges.

Join us on Thursday, February 20 at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT for a discussion featuring Rick and Sarah Brown, a Chronicle senior editor. At this event, Rick and Sarah will make sense of Trump's first month in office and look ahead at what it portends for colleges and the people who work at them.

Launching in late December 2022

The new Library website will offer an improved design, streamlined menus, easier navigation, and seamless integration with important tools used to manage online services. The major change occurring will be a redesigned homepage.

Any links in your course syllabus and course sites to the current homepage will automatically redirect to the new homepage. The library's URL: www2.leeward.hawaii.edu/library will not change.

What will I need to do?

There should not be too much you need to do other than check existing links in your course syllabus and course site. The other web pages hosting our content (links on the current homepage and menu links) should be unaffected. After the new website goes live, you will need to:

Check any links to the Library homepage or other site content pages. Direct links to the Primo Search page, links to LibGuides pages, and permalinks to e-books, e-journals, or streaming videos will not be affected.

Review and revise the written instructions to access resources you provide students to reflect the new design and menus.

When is the new website going live?

The new website will be launched on December 27, 2022.

Whom do I talk to if I have questions?
