October 8, 2021 by An | 0 comments

Hawaiian Obake/Ghost and Crime Mysteries

It’s Oct-THRILL-ber!!!

You should not have pork in your car while driving through the Pali Highway tunnels.

Some say you can see floating orbs around ‘Iolani Palace.

Have you ever hiked around Morgan’s Corner?

This Halloween, we’ve collected a few local tales, myths, and mystery/crime fiction that will give you chicken skin! Drop by our Hawaiian-Pacific Collection (in the library, upper level) or you can view our virtual display at go.hawaii.edu/Pnr.

Banned Books Week (September 27 – October 1)

September 24, 2021 by An | 0 comments

Banned Books Week: September 27 - October 2

Celebrate your freedom to read at Leeward CC Library!

During the last week of September, we feature books that are currently or have been historically challenged in libraries, schools, and countries. Leeward CC Library has almost 100 titles that have been banned or challenged! We also had our own experience with censorship. If you are curious which books made the banned list, drop by the Learning Commons & Library! You can also visit our display virtually at go.hawaii.edu/Pnr.

For more information about Banned Books Week, go to go.hawaii.edu/GC9.
